Mel Glickman (they/them) is a non-binary Jewish actor, combatant, and fight coordinator based in Los Angeles. They are currently a company member and fight director for award-winning theatre company MB Stage Productions in Hollywood.
Their work has been seen internationally at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and nationally at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, the Times Square Arts Center, the Rose Theater in Kansas City, Cohesion Theatre Company in Baltimore, and in empty lots and city streets along the Mid-Atlantic. They have a passion for storytelling that is physical, lyrical, and fantastical. (And violent, if necessary.)
Mel is a graduate of New York University and holds a BFA in Drama from Tisch School of the Arts’s Experimental Theatre Wing and a BA in Mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.
“I've had the sincere pleasure of directing Mel in some of the most complex and challenging theatre projects I've ever attempted. Wildly athletic fight shows, outdoor winter site-specific MP3 productions, audience-of-one detective noir on the streets of NYC; Mel has handled it all with calm, confidence, and a spirit of adventure. Mel is the type of performer you thank the theatre gods for because you don't have to worry about them for one dang minute. Consistently professional, kind, passionately dedicated, and working harder than most artists I've ever known. More important than all of that, Mel is an exceptional human being who treats everyone they encounter with respect and generosity - I feel honored to not only have them as a colleague, but to count them as a friend. Mel improves the rooms that they are in - more laughs, more drive, and more love.”

“Mel is an asset to any team. Their knowledge of fight choreography and ability to adjust on the fly make them especially invaluable on set or on stage. Mel is a dedicated quick study who leaves no stones unturned while maintaining flexibility in performance. They are an artist whose skills as a performer, fight choreographer, dramaturg, director, and writer invoke both critical thinking and artistic vision in the same step. I have repeatedly worked with Mel on several projects over the years for this reason.”
